“Since I am known as a rich person, I feel I have to tip at least $5 each time I check my coat, On top of that, I would have to wear a very expensive coat, and it would have to be insured” — Aristotle Onassis

 

 

In this quote, Aristotle Onassis is wryly commenting on the expectations and pressures that come with being a wealthy individual. He jokes that because of his reputation as a rich man, he would feel obligated to leave at least a $5 tip each time he checks his coat at a coat check.

Onassis also implies that to make such lavish tipping worthwhile, the coat itself would need to be very expensive and insured.
