Warren Buffett: Foolish Business
on Friday, July 29, 2011Warren Buffet Money Quotation saying Leadership roles change and leaders can go from good to bad, so putting money into companies should be based on the business rather than the leader. Warren Buffett said:
“You should invest in a business that even a fool can run, because someday a fool will” — Warren Buffett
Warren Buffett is advising investors to put their money into businesses that have simple operations that don’t require exceptional management skills to run. The quote means that even if the current capable managers leave, the business is structured in a way that future, possibly less skilled, managers could still successfully operate it.
By investing in businesses with straightforward operations, investors don’t have to rely on one particular talented leader – the business itself can continue functioning well under different management over time. In other words, the business fundamentals and business model should be the focus of investment, not just the individual leaders at the helm.
